Bio
For many years, I investigated the sociology of international development, the effects and « appropriation » of foreign aid in developing countries (Mali and secondarily Colombia) as well as South-South cooperation.
I now research in the field of gender studies and its international dimensions. My project deals with the global history, circulation(s) and developments of the sex positive movement. I am interested in the construction(s) and practices of sexual consent in this subculture and its emancipatory potential for sexual minorities in particular. I am happy to present my work at an international conference dedicated to Gender and Sexuality for the first time in December 2025: https://ags.phisoc.ulb.be/20-ans-ags
Before being appointed at the ULB, I was a doctoral candidate at SciencesPo/ CERI in Paris, a temporary lecturer (ATER in French) at Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne (2009-2011) and an assistant professor at Universidad de los Andes (2012-2015) in Bogotá. I was a fellow at the Global Economic Governance at Oxford University (UK, 2008) and at the Käte Hamburger Kolleg/Center for Global Cooperation Research of the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany, 2014).
I was an assistant editor for the Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding and of the Revue Internationale des Etudes du Développement in the past.
I am a member of STRIGES (Maison des Sciences Humaines): STRIGES - Maison des Sciences Humaines
I am an elected representative of academic staff (membre de la délégation du corps académique) in ULB’s governance structures (since 2024).
