Bio

Aidan Geel is a PhD candidate in geography at the University of Liège and a visiting researcher at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), under the joint supervision of François Gemenne and Romain Weikmans. His research focuses on the development and role of performance indicators, particularly composite indicators, in climate governance. He specifically explores the integration of climate finance into evaluating countries' performance under the Paris Agreement.

He strongly emphasises an interdisciplinary approach in his research. In addition to his academic activities, he is regularly called upon as a grader at Sciences Po Paris and collaborates closely with actors in the financial sector. Before beginning his PhD, he worked as a senior associate at the international consulting firm ERM, specialising in climate change.
