Bio

Temuulen Altangerel holds a master's degree in European studies from the Institute for European Studies (IEE) at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). His master's research examined Mongolian cultural diplomacy in Belgium, with a particular focus on the role of the Mongolian diaspora and non-state actors in promoting Mongolia’s cultural image abroad.

His current doctoral research at EASt explores Mongolia’s developmental narratives and the ways in which culture is used to promote, negotiate, and contest the country’s national image in a global context. Interests include international relations, cultural anthropology, inner-Asia, and developmental rationalities.
